LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

IAMCP-US Community –

I hope each of you and your families had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

As we wrap up another year we have lots to be thankful for and lots to look forward to!  I’m especially thankful for the incredible network of partners and good friends I have been fortunate to meet through the IAMCP!

Here are some exciting strategic projects the US board is working on for us:

  • IAMCP University – Exclusive training for a select group of IAMCP member companies in the US with Microsoft experts in the areas of Marketing and Communications, Digital Transformation, Partner Profitability, technical training and more . . . Stay tuned for more details coming this spring!
  • IAMCP-US Project Management Office for selling and delivering large scale projects together as a team - taking advantage of our cumulative competencies, expertise, scale and geographic reach. Our Seattle chapter is piloting this program and we hope to have some wins and a business case to share with you soon!
  • OCP/IAMCP Partnership – the “One Commercial Partner” group at Microsoft has agreed to work with us to provide current, relevant and IAMCP-exclusive content to help populate our resource library on the IAMCP-US website. Our hope is that these resources, combined with our monthly “Chapter Meeting In-A-Box” presentation, will provide chapter leaders with the tools they need to educate, inspire and lead well throughout all of our communities!

IAMCP-US Disaster Relief Fund

I’m very happy to report that we were able to provide some funding to an IAMCP member who suffered loss in the recent hurricane that devastated the Florida coast.

Here’s a picture of a project we were able to help fund as a result of your donations.

Thank you for your generosity and support!

Needless to say – there are lots of exciting things in the works and it’s a great time to be an IAMCP member!

I hope your businesses finish the year strong and you have a wonderful holiday season!

Warmly –

Randy

FROM THE MARCOM CHAIR

It is my pleasure to announce a new process for capturing P2P Stories.

We know for a fact that there are thousands, if not millions, of dollars of partnering happening between our IAMCP members. We want to capture this and share it! To achieve this, MarCom team wanted to capture those stories so they could be used in various Marketing & Membership assets like monthly Chapter-in-the-Box presentations, website pages and more.

So share this link with your members and let’s capture these amazing stories: http://bit.ly/P2PStory

If you have any questions about this process or any of the other processes that we have posted, please let us know.

IAMCP-US MarCom Committee Chair

WHAT'S HAPPENING AROUND THE U.S.?

CHICAGO - John Nicolau, Chapter President

We had a nice turnout for our November chapter meeting and many thanks to Mike Depoian from BlueGranite for presenting Part 1 of the P2P Maturity Model. The link for what he presented is http://www.joiniamcp.org/p2p-maturity-model-playbook.html, so please consult it for more information. Know that we are also exploring the possibility of presenting additional information on the playbook sometime in 2018, so stay tuned.

Upcoming Chicagoland Events:

  • IAMCP/WIT Holiday Party is confirmed for Thursday, December 14th
  • IAMCP/WIT – January Meeting (1/25/18) - Dynamics 365 Roadmap for SMB Partners.
  • WIT’s very popular “Male Perspective Panel” is tentatively planned for mid-January.

CLEVELAND - Ray Paganini, Chapter President

Please join us on Tuesday, December 5th at 8:30 AM for a special partner event hosted by the Cleveland chapter of the IAMCP. The focus of the event will be to review the Microsoft 365 Business and Microsoft 365 Enterprise products so that partners have the information they need to better support their customers. Event topics include

  • Review of the Microsoft 365 Business and Microsoft 365 Enterprise offerings
  • Choosing the correct plan for your customers
  • Microsoft 365 licensing
  • Customer targeting guidance

Attend this informative session to help you better understand Microsoft 365 and how it can benefit your customers. Breakfast will be provided. Seating is limited, register today!

DALLAS/FORT WORTH - Rudy Rodriguez, Chapter President

In the spirit of giving this holiday season, IAMCP DFW / WIT is partnering with Delicious Dishes again this year at Ronald McDonald House Dallas for the 2017 Christmas Lighting Dinner.

WHEN: Wednesday, December 6, 2017
TIME: 2:30 PM until 7:30 PM
LOCATION: Ronald McDonald House Dallas
ADDRESS: 4707 Bengal St, Dallas, TX 75235

How can you help? There are two ways you can help provide the RMHD residents with an amazing holiday experience:

  1. Register and attend the event and get involved by making dinner, assisting as needed in the kitchen/dining room, Santa photo op with the kids, distributing gifts, etc.
  2. Be a sponsor! Please contact ebbah.tokwe@iamcp.org for sponsorship opportunities. We still need sponsors to cover kids’ gifts, pay rented Santa, and photographer for the evening.

PHILADELPHIA - Ryan Carillo, Chapter President

We had a total of 15 people attend this month's meeting with a networking session followed by introductions and IAMCP updates. The following speakers then presented to the group:

  • Member Spotlight: Binary Tree - Brendan Haney
  • Sponsor Spotlight: Synnex Corporation
  • Harry Brelsford, SMB Nation: The 5 Steps to Implementing Analytics for MSPs and Partners
  • Stephen Deming, Microsoft: Overview of Microsoft 365 and Windows 10

Next month's meeting will be on December 12th and the topic will be HoloLens & AR/VR.

SOCAL - Eric Klauss, Chapter President

November and December are busy months for IAMCP SoCal!

IAMCP SoCal’s November meeting was sponsored by one of our members, Jeanne Tarazevits and her firm, Tarabyte Consulting. In addition to being a Microsoft Partner, Jeanne is a Top 100 QuickBooks ProAdvisor, the winner of both the Sleeter Group’s 2015 Top Techie Award and Insightful Accountant’s 2016 Top Integrations QuickBooks ProAdvisor award, and a CPA. She shared top tips for managed services partners on “What IT needs to Know About Quickbooks Databases.” Since we are going into the holiday season, we also had a fantastic presentation from several of our members talking about philanthropy. We heard about how Microsoft supports its team members’ philanthropic activities and how several members are supporting charitable organizations all over Southern California. At the end of the meeting, the members broke into small groups to continue our “meetings between the meetings” small group networking. Each group of 5-6 people scheduled a coffee, lunch or drinks meeting to take place before the December membership meeting.

Today, November 30th, IAMCP SoCal hosts our next quarterly mixer event. This is our holiday mixer, sponsored by SherWeb and Altec. Mixer attendees can donate unwrapped games and toys which will be donated to the Bresee Foundation. And speaking of the Bresee Foundation, IAMCP members will be participating in this year’s Bresee Foundation Holiday Grocery Giveway for needy families. This is going to be a fantastic way to give back to the community while simultaneously networking and partnering with IAMCP SoCal members, as well as members of new Los Angeles Football Club and executives from a number of LAFC’s new corporate sponsors.

ST. LOUIS - Marty OBlack, Chapter President

The St. Louis IAMCP chapter recently held an event at the CenturyLink facility in suburban St. Louis. Brannan Matherson, Director Product Management for CenturyLink’s Cloud Application Manager, demonstrated how their Cloud Manager helps companies facilitate IT transformation by orchestrating the secure delivery of infrastructure, applications and services across multiple clouds. He showed how they manage Azure instances and other cloud applications from a single interface. The event was well attended by CenturyLink staff, local chapter members and guests. Here’s a photo of Marty OBlack providing meeting introductions.

Attend our casual and fun holiday lunch on December 12th and give back to the community. We are requesting a donation (not required) in support of the 12th annual Red Wagon Toy Drive, sponsored by Microsoft, Aspect and KnowledgeLake! Wagons filled with toys are delivered each year to the local Ronald McDonald House. Members and non-members are welcome. You can learn more and sign up here.

TAMPA - Jon Rivers, Chapter President

The Tampa chapter wrapped up its last education session in November discussing “Microsoft Dynamics 365: The genesis of the ERP/CRM revolution.” Chris Cognetta, CRM MVP, kept the audience very engaged and on the edge of their seats with his presentation, sharing the exciting future of Dynamics 365 for the Partner Community. We look forward to bringing Chris back to the chapter again to present, maybe on Azure next time, as he has a lot to share there.

But the Tampa chapter isn’t done for the year. We will be hosting an IAMCP & WIT Tampa Chapter Holiday Party on December 12th 5-8pm at Ducky's Tampa. If you’re in the Tampa area on that day, make sure to join us. Click here to register and help us raise funds for the Rudy Rodriguez STEM Scholarship Fund. The IAMCP Tampa chapter will match dollar for dollar up to $250!

…And before we know it, we will be in 2018. Our content team is already working on some great sessions for you, so make sure to join us.

UTAH - Chris Paulding, Chapter President

WASHINGTON DC - Frank Valdivieso, Chapter President

Our IAMCP DC Chapter Inaugural Golf Tournament was on October 30 in Maryland and it was a HUGE success!

  • We had folks from the NJ and Philly chapters attend.
  • We had Microsoft participate and Sophos was a sponsor.
  • We raised $2000 for Horton’s kids.

Our November 15 meeting was at MS Chevy Chase. We had great presentations on Advanced eDiscovery using Office 365 & SharePoint vs Microsoft Teams vs Office 365 Groups: What Should I Use When?

IAMCP DC has been tracking P2P activity for the first time ever. Here’s what we’ve found:

  • Between July – November over $200K of referrals and business was passed
  • Partners with the most business passed were LCG Technologies and Planet

Our chapter has recently welcomed two new members to the board:

  • Membership – Jason Schnur
  • Philanthropy – Amy Rutt

Mark your calendars!!!!!!  Announcing the Washington DC chapter 2018 Kickoff Cocktail at the Microsoft Innovation and Policy Center (MIPC) in DC. The date is February 12 and it coincides with the U.S. Board and VFI meeting events being held in DC!  We will share the registration link as soon as it’s available.
