Meeting Compliance

Requirements of the GDPR

The clock is ticking. By May 25, 2018, virtually any company with customers or partners in the European Union must comply with the EU’s new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Fortunately, Microsoft solutions such as Azure and Office 365 support GDPR compliance. In this webinar, you’ll learn how partners and customers can meet GDPR requirements by the May deadline.

AUSTIN - Davin Cooke, Chapter President

November and December were a blur in Austin as many of our members worked hard to finish the year stronger and take some much-needed time off to spend with friends and family. December 14th was our IAMCP-Austin Annual Holiday/Ugly Sweater Party. We were joined by some new members and some familiar faces at our usual Brewpub space near the Microsoft offices. Check out some of the ugly sweaters!

Winners for best traditional, best science fiction, best non-traditional, and best homemade were handed out with some amazing headsets graciously supplied by our strong Microsoft partner, Jabra! We also ran a member promotion and were able to welcome two new members to the Austin chapter: Jeremy Wowkowych, SME Market Manager, Jabra and Ryan Norton Channel Partner Manager, AbacusNext. This month we feature new member Ryan Norton as part of our 2018 “Meet a Member” writeup:

Ryan Norton is a 15-year veteran of technology sales primarily in Cloud, IT Management, QA, and asset management solutions and services. Ryan has spent the bulk of his career building successful channel partnerships and driving collaborative sales activities within his channel community. New to Austin, Ryan is looking to grow his technology network in his new home. On a personal note, Ryan is a married father of 3 daughters and is enjoying all that Austin has to offer. AbacusNext is a unique solution provider and Ryan is eager to share his story with our members and collaborate on some exciting P2P opportunities for 2018.

The Austin IAMCP chapter wishes all its fellow chapters, partners, friends and family a happy new year and a prosperous 2018.

CHICAGO - John Nicolau, Chapter President

Chicagoland IAMCP/WIT’s holiday party was held on December 14 at Tradition Gastro Pub. We had plenty of food, libations and holiday cheer!

Register now and reserve your spot for the January 25th IAMCP/WIT meeting at the Microsoft MTC in Downers Grove. Now, Microsoft’s Mike Silver will shed light on the roadmap of Dynamics 365 for SMB partners. We know it will be a very informative session on “Dynamics 365 Roadmap in the SMB Space.”

During this session, Mike will cover:

What is Dynamics 365?

  • APPS comprising Dynamics 365

 One Dynamics 365 Edition

  • Discontinuation of two Editions - Business and Enterprise

 Dynamics 365 Pricing Overview

 Dynamics ERP Options

  • Existing Finance & Operations
  • Tenerife (code name for the new Dynamics 365 Finance and Operation Business Edition) and the current  Business Edition

 The Dynamics 365 Opportunity

There will be plenty of time for Q&A, as well as great networking opportunities!

DALLAS/FORT WORTH - Rudy Rodriguez, Chapter President

IAMCP DFW WIT kicked off the holidays with a celebration and day of giving at Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. We decorated, prepared food, and served over 138 residents, staff and caregivers. The 2017 Christmas Lighting Dinner featured a massive spread catered by Delicious Dishes where parents and children feasted on everything from BBQ and tamales to an impressive dessert table of more than 30 holiday treats.

It was a magical night for the families and their children who for one night got to focus on the fun and excitement of the season instead of getting well. Big THANKS to our title sponsor McNeely Technology Solutions, for making this event happen and putting smiles on the faces of many deserving children, parents and caregivers at RMHD. And THANKS to IAMCP DFW local volunteers who donated their time and served dinner to these very deserving families: Mary Elizabeth McNeely, Ebbah Tokwe, James Riley, Amanda Riley, Chantilly Berryman, ZeeAnn Kane and Anne Lacey Holmes.

KANSAS CITY - Brad Nagel, Chapter President

IAMCP-Kansas City held their first annual charity holiday party on December 5th. Thanks to Tom's Town Distilling Co. for allowing us to hold the party at your place. We had over 60 people in attendance, supporting two wonderful organizations, Bags of Fun and Phoenix Family. Thanks to Paul Schmidt at Zerto for a great presentation and contribution in co-sponsoring the event. Megan Horton, Stackify, great work introducing IAMCP WIT in Kansas City! We’re looking forward to 2018!

SOCAL - Eric Klauss, Chapter President

IAMCP SoCal volunteered to assist the Breesee Center with their annual grocery give away for families in need. This year, the Breesee Center gave away over 500 family meals. IAMCP SoCal members volunteered their time to arrive early, unload trucks, and then pack the items for families to pick up. Watch the video!

UTAH - Ed Roberson, Chapter President

The Utah chapter met on December 21st to discuss the 2018 calendar year, including installing a sponsorship chair for 2018 to coordinate the sponsorship of our monthly meetings.
