Letter from the President

IAMCP-US Community –

Wow, is it really almost November?!?!

I love this time of year with the cooler weather and changing colors! I’m also very pleased to share some exciting changes happening at IAMCP!

Please welcome Sharan Hildebrand as our new membership chair for the US! Sharan wears several hats as senior vice president of sales and strategy at Capax Global, LLC, as a member of the Chicago IAMCP/WIT community and as the regional chair for all of our WIT communities throughout the Central Region. Thank you, Sharan, for your service – we are very fortunate to have you as a leader in our organization! Please take a moment to welcome and thank Sharan at -

Our former membership chair, Titu Sarder, will be taking on a new special role for us, creating e-learning content! I’m very excited about this new role and really appreciate Titu and all the hard work he has put in and continues to put into the IAMCP-NY chapter, as well as the US board! Titu also wears many hats as the founder and president of NetCom Learning Inc and as the president and US board representative for the IAMCP-NYC chapter. Thank you, Titu, for your continued service and willingness to take on this new role! We are very grateful for your willingness to lead and serve our communities! Please take a moment to thank Titu for his service at

Our Marketing and Communications team just introduced a new process for capturing P2P Stories! According to Jon Rivers, our marcom chair, “We know for a fact that there are thousands, if not millions, of dollars of partnering happening between our IAMCP members. We want to capture these stories and share them in various marketing and membership assets like monthly chapter in the box presentations, website pages and more." Please use this link to share your stories with all of us!

There are so many more exciting things to share with you, I could go on all day!! However, I’ll end with this . . . We are working with Kati Quigley and her team to launch a quarterly webinar series for IAMCP members hosted by Microsoft executives! They will announce new initiatives, update us and answer our questions about the re-organization, and share helpful ideas and advice on how to make the most of our partnership selling and servicing Microsoft solutions! Stay tuned for more details, but our hope is to launch the first event this fall!

Thanks for your support and your partnership as we seek to make the IAMCP a great community we are all proud to be a part of!

Warmly –

Randy Steinle

ATLANTA - Ej Harof, Chapter President

The Atlanta IAMCP & WIT chapter had our 6th dynamic event of 2017 on October 19th at the Microsoft Office in Alpharetta. We watched the WIT webinar with Kati Quigley on “The Art of Negotiation.” Special thanks to Microsoft partner Jabra for providing lunch! Then we had some networking time, updates on WIT and Microsoft, a summit overview, and new technology presentations. We finished the event with a cybersecurity panel webinar discussion, moderated by Jay Harmon of Borderhawk Security.

CHICAGO - John Nicolau, Chapter President

Our September 26 WIT event was a great success! The Kate Spade store provided the perfect backdrop for casual networking, shopping and, most importantly, a fireside chat with Jo Ann Mirabelli, who is currently battling metastatic breast cancer. Jo Ann touched the room with her story and brought us from tears to laughter as she shared her raw and real insights on how to stay positive when you’re in the eye of life changing adversity. After the event, almost every attendee took the time to approach Jo Ann and, with a handshake or hug, thank her for her message while affirming how they connected with her.

WIT is proud to have hosted this event as our mantra remains focused on “building confidence in the next generation of female leader.” Jo Ann had game changing advice regarding how to face challenges, overcome hurdles and prioritize what’s most important in your life – regardless of what you’re battling.

On Thursday, October 19th, we had a great presentation and content by Jim Bertler from Logan Consulting on “Dynamics 365 in the SMB Space.” Thanks to those members who could join us!

Join the Chicagoland IAMCP and WIT communities at our next meeting on Wednesday, November 15th, as we host former IAMCP presidents, Michael Depoian and Jennifer Didier. IAMCP member Blue Granite will present on the “The P2P Maturity Model Playbook.”

DFW - Rudy Rodriguez, Chapter President

The Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of IAMCP met at the Microsoft Store at NorthPark Center on October 25th. Our action-packed agenda included networking, lunch, a highly informative session on Cloud Identity Management, and a special announcement on the IAMCP STEM Scholarship Program.

HOUSTON - AJ Ansari, Chapter President

This Month:
Our Houston chapter of IAMCP regrouped in October after taking a month-long hiatus in September as most local partners were busy recovering from – and making up for lost time due to – Hurricane Harvey. The October meeting focused on ways that partners can maximize the value of their partnership with Microsoft, which included a lively discussion among attendees about Microsoft’s CSP program, cloud-readiness, Dynamics 365, Microsoft AppSource, the rise in subscription-based sales, and core productivity solutions like Office 365 and Microsoft 365.

Hurricane Harvey Recovery:
The Houston chapter is grateful to the national IAMCP leadership for their timely and proactive efforts to support in Hurricane Harvey recovery and the ongoing drive to raise money for families and businesses impacted. More information on these efforts, and link for relief donations can be found at the official IAMCP Hurricane Relief Fund page.

August Recap:
In August, the Houston chapter met at St. Arnold Brewery in downtown to learn about best practices in organizational security management. The event was sponsored by Service Control, who discussed the importance of simplified Identity Orchestration and Management for Microsoft practices to increase profitability and securing businesses. Davin Cooke of Service Control introduced the attendees to their solution Identity Maestro, which allows companies to provide role-based access control and delegated administration across cloud-based services and on-premises environments. For partnership opportunities, and to learn more about Identity Maestro, Davin can be reached at

Continuing on the theme of security, Fred Limmer of Cinza Cloud shared best practices on managing security and passwords, and the importance of organizational readiness to avoid falling victim to malware, ransomware, and phishing attacks.

Coming Up in November:
IAMCP Houston will host its next meeting on Wednesday, November 29th at 11AM (venue TBD). We are excited to welcome renowned public speaker, author and Corporate Strategist, Hank Moore! You do not want to miss this event! Click HERE to register today. Want to learn more about Hank Moore? Click here!

PHILADELPHIA - Ryan Carillo, Chapter President

Our October Philadelphia chapter meeting started with a networking session and partner introductions. We then had our IAMCP updates. A new feature for this meeting was a member spotlight and partnering overview. Frank Buttaro with New Horizons gave us an overview of NH and details around his success with local partners. Thanks to Synnex for sponsoring our meeting! Our speaker was Vince Menzione, who discussed partnering with Microsoft. Vince's podcast may be found here:

RALEIGH-TRIANGLE - Dave Poole, Chapter President

Our chapter in Raleigh underwent some changes over the summer. We welcomed Craig Bowden from Freedom Fighter Networks as our new VP, so our complete board is now as follows:

 - Dave Poole – President

 - Craig Bowden – Vice President

 - Michael Phelps – Secretary

 - Anthony Fernandez – Treasurer

 - Lauren Roberti – Membership Committee Chair

We had a small meeting in October due to the VP change and are looking forward to our event in the RTP TierPoint data center with a new sponsor, TierPoint!

WASHINGTON DC -  Frank Valdivieso, Chapter President

On October 18th, we met in DC at the Microsoft Innovation & Policy Center to discuss important topics in Technology Advocacy and how to get involved with VFI (Voices for Innovation). Our moderator was Jonathan Friebert, Director External Affairs/US Government Affairs with Microsoft. We had four members of the VFI Advisory Task Force on the panel: Ryan Risley, Nikkia Carter, Titu Sarder & Jeff Goldstein.

They had all met with the FCC earlier that day and discussed their meeting, where they filed a letter from nearly 300 small tech business leaders from across the country voicing support for using TV white spaces spectrum for broadband. The letter urges FCC commissioners “to make three channels of TV white spaces spectrum available for broadband connectivity” to close our nation’s digital divide. Currently, 34 million Americans lack adequate access to high-speed internet. For information on VFI:
